Decaf coffee, decaf tea and decaf green tea against cellulite

Drinks, such as coffee, tea and green tea provide skin, blood vessels, adipose tissue and the entire body with precious cellulite-fighting polyphenols.

Among other polyphenols:

  • Green tea contains catechins, such as EGCG (EpiGalloCatechin Gallate)

  • Black tea contains theaflavins

  • Coffee and green coffee contain chlorogenic acid

The more of these polyphenols you consume, the better

These phytochemicals have a protective effect on skin, blood vessels and adipose tissue, fighting:

  • Glycation

  • Oxidative damage

  • Fat accumulation

  • Water retention

  • Inflammation

  • Fibrosis

  • Skin laxity

…i.e. they help prevent and reduce all seven aspects of cellulite.

For cellulite, have decaf

The problem with the above drinks is that they also contain caffeine, which can be too stimulating for some people.

Furthermore, the presence of caffeine in these drinks would not allow most people to consume high quantities of those drinks and therefore it would prevent them from benefiting more from the anti-cellulite properties of polyphenols.

So the solution is simple: have decaf.

Contrary to popular belief, 99% of decaf products today are made via the carbon dioxide / water decaffeination processes, and are totally pure and natural.

Sure, decaffeination reduces the amount of polyphenols in those drinks to some extent, but then again it also allows you to have as much as you want of those drinks, without the stimulant effect of caffeine, so the net gain in relation to caffeinated drinks in huge.

Instant decaf coffee

Again, contrary to popular belief, instant coffee is absolutely fine, it is not extracted with harmful chemicals and in fact it is a healthful, freeze-dried herbal extract.

People pay a lot of money for freeze-dried extracts of other herbs and fruits, while quality decaf instant coffee is available at low prices for all to enjoy and benefit.

So having decaf instant coffee can be helpful in providing the body with previous high quality polyphenols at a low cost.

Herbal teas and cellulite

All non-caffeinated herbal teas contain, to a greater or lesser extent, polyphenols and other healthy phytochemicals, so yes, herbal teas are also great to keep skin healthy.

Most herbal teas are quite safe too and can be consumed in high quantities* for better results.

(* Always check first though, as there are literally hundreds of herbal teas consumed around the world and it is impossible to write a full guide for all of them.)

Of course, my favourite anti-cellulite herbal tea is gotu kola (centella asiatica), made from the leaves of the the ultimate anti-cellulite plant. Gotu kola tea is rich in the triterpenes asiatic acid, asiaticoside, madecassic acid, madecassoside, which are some of the most important phytochemicals against cellulite.

What about the caffeinated drink varieties? Doesn’t caffeine give you cellulite ?

Of course, if you like the caffeine kick, you can always have up to 300-400mg of caffeine a day, roughly equivalent to 3-4 single espressos, 2-3 matcha teas (matcha is very rich in caffeine) or 5-6 cups of tea / green tea.

You will still benefit from the polyphenols, and no, caffeine will not give you cellulite (that’s a glossy magazine myth).

Caffeine in high amounts is only bad for you if it leads to overstimulation and then a consequent crash. Some people do not suffer those effects and for them caffeine is fine.

If you feel too anxious or you feel exhausted 3-4 hours after having caffeine, then just stop it - caffeine is not for you.

Decaf tea polyphenols in anti-cellulite creams

In addition to providing your skin with polyphenols from the inside, you can always do so from the outside, with a real cellulite cream, i.e. one with multiple, high-purity anti-cellulite actives in high concentrations.

Our Celluence® creams, for example, contain EGCG (green tea), chlorogenic acid (green coffee), caffeine (no whole body systemic stimulation effect) plus gotu kola / centella asiatica, among other natural plant actives.
