What cellulite treatment or cream I would choose if I had cellulite (after specialising for 23 years in cellulite)

TL;DR: I put myself in your shoes and personally preach on this website and practise at the clinic what I would do myself if I needed skin tightening and cellulite reduction - NOT what is just profitable even if it doesn’t work, like many clinics do.

The entire beauty industry is based on gimmicks and new fashions about new miracle treatments every two years - and we don’t do that at LipoTherapeia.

The absolute best treatment for cellulite reduction and skin tightening, with no compromises or hype

  • Why deep-acting, high-power radiofrequency and high-power ultrasound cavitation?

  • My background

  • What works in the real world

  • My position based on this background

  • Flexible but not shallow

  • The entire beauty industry is based on gimmicks and temporary fashions

  • No miracle claims, just honesty and the strongest SAFE treatment available today

  • We prefer to keep it responsible, professional and down to earth

Why deep-acting, high-power radiofrequency and high-power ultrasound cavitation for cellulite?

At LipoTherapeia we preach what we practise.

Our 100% focus is how to offer you the safest and most effective treatment possible, without cut corners or compromises.

I put myself in your shoes and personally preach on this website and practise at the clinic what I would do myself if I needed skin tightening and cellulite reduction - NOT what is just profitable even if it doesn’t work, like many clinics do.

The entire beauty industry is based on gimmicks and new fashions about new miracle treatments every two years - and we don't do that at LipoTherapeia.

Here is some more context into what we do and believe.

My background

  • I have more than two decades of experience in cellulite and skin tightening - both hands-on and theoretical

  • I daily follow all the latest research papers and new developments in:

    • Cellulite and skin firmness physiology: for general knowledge of the subject

    • Anti-cellulite / skin tightening technologies: for treatments

    • Anti-cellulite / skin firming active ingredients: for skincare products

  • I know both the aesthetic equipment industry and the skincare active ingredient industry inside-out: all the major players, manufacturers and distributors

  • I regularly try all the new ingredients and machines that are worth trying (tip: most are gimmicks)

  • During the last two decades we have provided at the clinic more than 22,000 treatments on more than 4,000 clients

What works in the real world

So I know first hand what works and what doesn’t: in real life. Not on paper, in theories, on shallow websites or on instagram and tiktok.

I am not a plastic surgeon, a dermatologist, a cosmetic surgeon, a journalist, a beauty blogger, vlogger or tiktoker, to theorise and conduct theoretical exercises on the map, according to what other people, who have never actively treated cellulite, say.

Instead, in addition to following the research, I laboriously practise cellulite reduction and skin tightening in the real world, HANDS-ON, DAY-IN, DAY-OUT, YEAR-IN, YEAR-OUT.

On paper and in sales pitches presented by aesthetic equipment manufacturers (and by skincare ingredient manufacturers too), everything is “OMG, it’s revolutionary, it’s amazing, I want it now!!!!❤️💕🔥💪”.

If you believe everything they tell you and all the BS diagrams and fake ‘before and after pictures’ they show you (there are a lot of fake “before and afters” - everywhere), or if all you care about is the profit projections and ROI they show you, you will do a disservice to your clients and to yourself.

You need to read the whole research papers fully (not just the title), look at the specifications (if you understand them), look at all the reviews and feedback in detail (on surface everything is “amazing”), try the machine/active ingredient on yourself and then try it for a month in the real world, with real clients.

Otherwise you think you know, but you don’t know.

My position based on this background

With my current knowledge, experience and assessment of hundreds of machines and active ingredients, if I did have cellulite or skin looseness I would do the following - and that is why we practise these at the clinic:

  • With a good, strong treatment, I would typically have 6-12 weekly/twice-weekly/fortnightly sessions, depending on severity. With a lesser treatment I would double that. And of course I would laugh at any clinic promising me results in 1-4 sessions.

  • Hopefully I wouldn’t let my skin become so bad that it would need the maximum of 24 sessions that I recommend for severe cases (although I understand that quite often life gets in the way and we have no other choice than to neglect our body and even our health…)

  • For prevention and maintenance after my course of treatments, I would have top-up treatment every 4-8 weeks to maintain results - depending on time, budget and healthy/unhealthy lifestyle

  • And for both prevention and improvement I would definitely apply daily a real cellulite cream, i.e. one with multiple, high-purity anti-cellulite / skin firming actives in high concentrations, taking 2-week breaks every 12 weeks, so my body would not develop tolerance

This is why we offer the advice, the treatments and the products that we offer at the clinic: because collectively they comprise what are the best ways to reduce / maintain / prevent cellulite and skin looseness.

Flexible but not shallow

Of course, all the above are not set in stone.

Anything new (treatment, active ingredient or lifestyle factor) that makes sense, works better and is safe, I am happy to immediately:

  • Adopt at the clinic

  • Suggest on this website

  • Add to our skincare range

I am flexible - I am not in love with any specific technology, company or active ingredient for life.

But I would not jump on the latest shallow gimmick that is unsafe or that doesn’t work, just to make money at my clients’ expense.

Most clinics in London do just that, just to stay up to date with the latest trends that consumers are brainwashed to follow.

The entire beauty industry is based on gimmicks and temporary fashions

Every two years there is a new technology that is supposed to be amazing and miraculous, just for manufacturers to sell new machines and the public to buy new, ever-expensive treatments. The vast majority of them are gimmicks.

The current gimmicks in 2024 are:

  • RF microneedling: very unsafe and not that effective

  • Extreme intensity HIFU: 1-session “miracle” that is very unsafe and not that effective either

  • Even the pointless, low intensity HIFU (due to it being confused with the real, extreme intensity HIFU)

  • Extreme intensity RF: 1-session “miracle”

  • Extreme intensity non-focused ultrasound: 1-session “miracle”

  • And of course there are really silly things like the ‘lemon bottle fat dissolve’ (sure… 😂), which reminds me of other silly trends in the past, such as those ridiculous MBT trainers that used to “banish cellulite”, “detox foot pads”, “strawberry lipo” and other practical jokes that people fall for - and sadly pay money for.

For those who fall prey to this marketing nonsense all I have to say is: good luck with the miracle results…

And every year there is a host of diluted, scantly researched new active ingredients that are also supposed to be amazing and miraculous (the latest gimmick in skincare is “exosomes” 🙄), just for raw material manufacturers to sell new actives and for the public to buy new, ever-expensive “serums” and “cellulite creams”.

We don’t do that. We stick to what is safe, what works in the real world and what is researched extensively.

At the moment I am satisfied that the things we do and advise, comprise the best possible ways to reduce cellulite and tighten skin - safely and effectively.

No miracle claims, just honesty and the strongest SAFE treatment available today

Of course our creams, treatments or website advice will not magically get rid of your cellulite/tighten your skin:

  • either permanently,

  • completely,

  • in a few days,

  • in 1-4 sessions,

  • or with no other effort on your part

These things do not exist, regardless of how many thousands of £££££ / $$$$$ / €€€€€ you spend on overpriced treatments or creams.

Even if you are a billionaire you still need to have 6-12 sessions - and sometimes 24. There is no one-off, instant shortcut because you have billions in the bank and £20k to throw on an one-off miracle treatment (yes, that happens a lot, but hey, it’s good for the economy, money has to circulate).

So if you are looking for a miracle cellulite treatment or cream that forever gets rid of your cellulite or makes your skin drum-tight in one session, go for it. Look on Google and instagram and there will be plenty of unscrupulous companies and practitioners eager to take your money - and stimulate the economy a little too. It needs it.

We prefer to keep it responsible, professional and down to earth

And this is my two pence, after more than two decades in this field of expertise. I couldn’t say it more honestly and I hope it helps.
